The 14th modern running of Falcon Motor Club’s March Hare Trial, the only Classic Reliability Trial to be held in the Chilterns, will take place on Sunday 4th March 2012.

2008 saw a major milestone being passed as that years event marked the 50th anniversary of the very first March Hare Trial. Remarkably this years event will still use some of the sections from the very first event.

The trial will follow the familar format of previous years (but with variations), and as usual will provide competitors with an enjoyable full days sport in the lovely Chiltern countryside. A record 19 competitive sections and two special tests are on offer, providing a challenge to both novice and experienced crews. There will be several new sections and and yet another new venue on this years event, with some additional greenlaning too. Most of the old favourites will be included, but Brickhill is dropped in order to cut down on road mileage which is now less than 80.

The organising team every year comprises of well known and experienced trials competitors, thus guaranteeing a superb event in the beautiful countryside of Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire.

This year both the start and finish will again be at the friendly Chequers Inn, Redbourn, just a short distance from the M1 junction 9. Trailer & tow car parking will be available a short distance away. Breakfast snacks and drinks, and post-event meals/refreshments are available at very reasonable prices [the venue is a 'Chef & Brewer' Pub/Restaurant, and booking is not necessary]. Competitors are encouraged to patronise the venue in order to ensure the facilities remain available for future use.

The National B event is open to Falcon Motor Club members and all members of clubs belonging to the ACTC, ASEMC, ACSMC & AWMMC although the event is not a championship round. The Clubsport section is open to Falcon Motor Club members and members of Stroud & District MC, MGCC (Midland Centre), VSCC, Eastbourne & Ram MC, West Suffolk MC, Farnborough District MC and the MCC who do not hold an MSA competition licence. The event is limited to 50 starters, and has attracted a full entry for the last 2 years - so potential competitors are advised to enter early in order to avoid disappointment.
